The firm's latest launch offers expertise and guidance to help mitigate any unnecessary damage to a client's reputation and protect their career prospects. Mr. Jaksa and his team bring many years of experience in representing clients at regulatory body hearings, ensuring that individuals' rights are upheld at every stage of the disciplinary process.

The firm's recent statement explains the importance of securing the services of an experienced lawyer as soon as one becomes aware of disciplinary charges being brought. This allows the defence team to mitigate the collateral damage that can be caused by clients unwittingly incriminating themselves in an effort to clear their name or dispute the allegations.

While disciplinary incidents are still relatively rare within the nursing profession in Canada, increased regulation across the health sector and understaffing have compounded the pressure that nurses and other medical professionals are under. Regulatory and professional hearings still carry the weight of a formal legal hearing with evidence presented and witnesses appearing to bolster a client's defence.

Mr. Jaksa has years of experience representing clients who have been charged with breaches in the nurse-client relationship, failure to provide a duty of care, and any form of disregard for their profession's ethical standards. Charges and allegations may come from within - from fellow staff members and management, or patients.

The College of Nurses of Ontario is the presiding regulatory body which governs nurses in the region. The organization is obligated to investigate all complaints made against its members. William Jaksa helps defendants assemble all of the necessary documentation to refute any allegations of misconduct. The team also has a detailed understanding of the Health Professions Act and the Nursing Act and the likely sanctions that clients will face if they are found to have violated the code of conduct stipulated in these pieces of legislation.

A spokesperson says, “Licenced professionals are always held to a higher standard by the public and by their respective professional licensing bodies and regulators. If you are facing a professional regulation complaint or have a pending professional discipline matter, it is important to have an experienced lawyer by your side.”

Eala aiming to finish season with bang after Tokyo exit

TOKYO — Philippines sensation Alexandra Eala lost in the quarter-finals in Tokyo on Friday and said she had "high motivation" to finish her breakthrough season with a bang next week in Hong Kong. Eala lost 2-6, 7-6 (7/5), 6-4 against Russian number three seed Diana Shnaider in her debut appearance at the Pan Pacific Open. The world number 19 has one more tournament left in a season that saw her become the first player from the Philippines to win a title on the women's WTA Tour in Washington in August. Eala will be among the favorites for the title in Hong Kong, and she said she was not in the mood to look back on her achievements yet. "I'm super excited, and I'm going in with high motivation," said the 21-year-old. "I'm trying to put my reflections off for one more week because of said motivation. Check back in a week." Eala won five straight games to take control of the first set, but the second set was a far closer affair. Neither player managed to break their opponent's serve, but world number 13 Shnaider edged the tie-breaker. Shnaider went a break up early in the third set and Eala needed treatment on her right foot before the Russian clinched the match with an ace. Eala said the match had been "a huge battle". "Both of us could take the match to a really, really high level," she said. "I'm proud of that despite the loss, but I do think I had my chances. "Next time, hopefully do better in those moments," she added. Eala was again backed by a large, passionate group of Philippines fans. She was playing in Japan for the second time in two months after reaching the semi-finals at the Asian Games in Nagoya. "To be in front of the crowd and to play in this atmosphere is always super special," she said. "I love Japan as a whole, whether I'm here for tennis or not, so I really had fun." Shnaider will play Mia Pohankova in the semi-finals after the 18-year-old Slovakian beat American Alycia Parks 7-6 (7/3), 6-3. Uzbekistan's Kamilla Rakhimova will play Canada's Leylah Fernandez in the other semi-final. Fernandez advanced when world number one Elena Rybakina withdrew with a neck injury.
