Odyssey Math Tuition announces 2026 expansions: team growth with ongoing hiring, AI integration into online courses, launched stand-alone self-paced math tuition, and franchise opportunities to enhance primary math tuition Singapore, math tuition, and overall tuition accessibility.

Singapore, January 27, 2026 -- Odyssey Math Tuition, a Singapore-based math tuition center specializing in math tuition has announced several key initiatives for 2026 aimed at expanding its reach and enhancing educational offerings. These developments include team growth with ongoing math tutors hiring, integration of artificial intelligence into online math courses, the launch of stand-alone self-paced online math tuition courses, and the introduction of a franchise system for interested educators.

Odyssey Math Tuition, established in 2013 by principal mathematics tutor Mr. Justin Tan, continues to evolve its approach to mathematics education in Singapore. The center, known for its focus on students from primary school through junior college levels, has outlined expansions for 2026 that address growing demands in primary math tuition Singapore, math tuition, and tuition services overall. These initiatives build on the center's foundation of providing Ministry of Education (MOE)-aligned curricula, including preparation for exams such as the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE), O-Levels, IP and A-Levels.

The announcements come at a time when educational needs in Singapore are shifting toward more flexible and technology-driven learning options. Odyssey Math Tuition's proprietary Odyssey Math Tuition curriculum, developed by Mr. Tan, emphasizes clear explanations, problem-solving strategies, and real-world applications across subjects like Elementary Math (E-Math), Additional Math (A-Math), and H1/H2 Math. This curriculum has been a cornerstone for the center's programs, which include onsite small-group classes at locations such as Hexacube Eunos, flexible online coaching, and hybrid formats designed for personalized attention.

"These 2026 expansions reflect our commitment to making high-quality math education more accessible and effective for students across Singapore," said Mr. Justin Tan, founder and principal math tutor of Odyssey Math Tuition. "By growing our team, incorporating AI, offering self-paced courses, and exploring franchises, we aim to support more learners in overcoming challenges in primary math tuition Singapore, math tuition, and tuition in general."

One of the primary focuses for 2026 is the expansion of the team of math tutors. Odyssey Math Tuition has already increased its staff of experienced educators and is actively hiring additional qualified individuals. This move is intended to maintain small class sizes while accommodating more students in both onsite and online settings. The hiring process targets passionate teachers with expertise in MOE syllabi, ensuring that instruction remains patient, structured, and engaging. Prospective maths tutors are encouraged to apply, with opportunities to contribute to a nurturing environment that transforms math anxiety into confidence.

The expanded team will support the center's diverse offerings, from foundational primary-level concepts like model drawing and fractions to advanced junior college topics such as calculus and statistics. This growth is expected to enhance the delivery of tuition services, allowing for more tailored guidance in primary math tuition Singapore and broader math tuition programs. Interested candidates can contact the center at OdysseyMathTuition.com for details on positions, which include roles in curriculum delivery and student mentoring.

In parallel with team expansion, Odyssey Math Tuition is advancing its integration of artificial intelligence into online math tuition courses throughout 2026. This work-in-progress initiative builds on the existing 24/7 e-learning system, which provides self-paced access to math video lessons. The AI enhancements are designed to offer customized revision plans, adaptive learning paths, and targeted support based on individual student performance at a later stage.

Currently, the math e-learning platform is complimentary for all enrolled secondary and junior college students, enabling unlimited review of topics to improve exam grades. The AI integration (to be launched later in 2026) aims to extend these benefits by analyzing student interactions and suggesting personalized resources, such as additional practice on weak areas like algebra or geometry. This development aligns with the center's innovative approach, where technology complements the custom Odyssey Math Tuition curriculum to make math tuition more efficient.

"As we integrate AI, our goal is to create a more responsive learning experience that helps students in primary math tuition Singapore and beyond," noted Mr. Tan. "This technology will allow for real-time adjustments, ensuring that tuition remains relevant and impactful without replacing the human element of teaching."

A significant milestone already achieved is the launch of stand-alone online math tuition courses, available to students who prefer learning at their own pace from home. These courses cover levels from primary to junior college, featuring comprehensive modules aligned with PSLE, O-Level, and A-Level requirements. Math students gain access to step-by-step video explanations, all without the need for in-person enrollment.

This expansion broadens accessibility, particularly for busy families seeking flexible primary math tuition Singapore options or supplemental math tuition. The courses incorporate elements of the Odyssey Math Tuition curriculum, such as simplified breakdowns of complex topics and real-world examples, to foster deeper understanding. Pricing is structured to be affordable, with no hidden fees, and the platform supports 24/7 access for revisiting materials.

Student feedback highlights the value of these resources. "The online courses have made a real difference in my understanding of A-Math concepts, leading to better grades," shared a recent secondary student participant. Another added, "Being able to learn at home has fit perfectly into my schedule, enhancing my overall tuition experience."

For educators interested in scaling this model, Odyssey Math Tuition is introducing a franchise system in 2026. This opportunity allows passionate teachers to partner with the center and establish their own branches, extending the "Wizard School of Math" philosophy nationwide. Franchises will benefit from the proprietary Odyssey Math Tuition curriculum, e-learning tools, and marketing support, while maintaining the emphasis on small classes and student-centered teaching.

The franchise model is designed for individuals with a background in education who share the center's vision of making math enjoyable and effective. Potential partners can inquire for more details, including investment requirements and operational guidelines. This expansion aims to increase the availability of quality math tuition and tuition services across Singapore, addressing regional demands in primary math tuition Singapore and other areas.

"Franchising represents a way to empower more educators while reaching students who might not otherwise access our programs," explained Mr. Tan. "It's about building a community dedicated to excellence in math education."

These 2026 initiatives underscore Odyssey Math Tuition's role in Singapore's educational landscape, where innovation meets tradition. The center's free resources, such as crash courses on key concepts and blog articles with video guides (e.g., on inequalities and quadratic equations), will continue to be available to all students, complementing the expanded paid offerings.

With a track record of grade improvements and positive testimonials, Odyssey Math Tuition positions these developments as steps toward broader impact. The center invites students, parents, and educators to explore the updates via its website.

Shin’s class shines through in 9-shot ICTSI Apo triumph

DAVAO CITY – Neither the rain-soaked conditions nor Russell Bautista’s early surge could derail Micah Shin’s march to victory as he took firm control of the final round of the ICTSI Apo Golf Classic, cruising to a commanding nine-shot triumph over Sean Ramos here on Friday. Armed with a seven-stroke overnight cushion over Bautista, Shin played with measured aggression despite the softened and demanding conditions, displaying the same resilience that had defined his performances in the previous two rounds, He once again bounced back from every miscue and mishit, birdying Nos. 6 and 8 to offset a shaky bogey-birdie-bogey stretch from No. 2 and keep his round firmly on track. While Bautista showed some fight, carding a solid 33 on the front nine to trim the deficit to five, Shin remained unruffled, cruising through the closing nine holes with the poise, confidence and composure of a champion to leave little doubt about his command of the contest. He and Bautista faltered with bogeys on No. 14, but while Shin bounced back with a birdie on the next hole, Bautista could not find a similar response. Instead, he endured an erratic finish, dropping strokes on each of the next three holes and allowing Shin to pull away for an emphatic victory. He closed with a 70 for a wire-to-wire victory on a 17-under 271 total at the Apo Golf and Country Club. “It was actually quite tough today. I kept hitting the ball to the right and wasn't able to save par on Nos. 2 and 4, which I managed to do in the third round,” Shin said, recalling his early struggles in the challenging conditions. “I wasn't starting well, while Russell was playing really well. I thought that if I didn't pick up my game, things could get a little tricky. I started focusing more on the back nine, although I still wasn't hitting the ball well and couldn't make any birdies. Russell, meanwhile, had a poor finish. But I just kept trying to play my own game and make more birdies. I managed to do that on No. 15 and the final hole, and got the job done,” he added. After an impressive start, Bautista wavered down the stretch, limping home with a 73 for a 281 total. That opened the door for Ramos, who birdied the final hole to shoot a 69 and snatch solo runner-up honors at 280. With the outcome already beyond doubt, Shin must have been tempted to go for a spectacular finish and put an exclamation point on his victory. But even a champion can be tested at the most unexpected moment. From the par-5 18th tee, Shin sent his drive sailing into the rough along the ninth fairway – perhaps the only time all week he had failed to find the fairway. With the tall trees blocking any realistic chance of reaching the green, he wisely abandoned the heroic option and chose to lay up near the ninth green. From there, with the pin some 90 yards away, he took careful aim and unleashed a near-perfect lob shot. The ball landed just on the edge of the green, trickled forward and finally came to rest about seven feet from the cup. The stage was set for one final flourish. With the composure that had defined his remarkable week, Shin calmly rolled in the birdie putt, sending the gallery ringing around the green and the crowd gathered at the clubhouse into a roar of approval. It was a fitting, dramatic finale – a final display of touch, precision and nerves of steel that brought the curtain down on a week of breathtaking shotmaking and sheer dominance. “Very far right and long. And I went in between Nos. 9 and 18, and I was in the rough. I had no shot, I mean, I had a shot on 18, but I had to leave it about like 100, maybe 50 to 70 yards and it was like the pin was all the way in the back, so it was too tough. So, I looked right, and then there was like a huge gap, so I just hit it right and had a good shot into near the ninth,” said Shin. The victory also provided a fitting bookend to Shin's 2026 Philippine Golf Tour campaign. After opening the season with a triumph at The Country Club Invitational, the PGT’s flagship event, last January, he closed it out with another title, pocketing the top purse of P534,000. Clyde Mondilla, fresh from his victory at South Pacific last week, matched par 72 to finish fourth at 283, followed by Elee Bisera, who shot a 70 for 284. Dino Villanueva fired the day's best round of 68 to charge into solo sixth at 285. Guido van der Valk fumbled with a 74 to drop to seventh at 286, while Angelo Que carded a 71 for eighth at 287. Alex Bisera matched par 72 to tie for 11th at 289 with Jacob Rolida, who rallied with two birdies over the final six holes to salvage a 74. Bisera, however, claimed the low amateur honors via countback, denying Rolida back-to-back victories after the latter topped the South Pacific leg. Heavy overnight rains had forced a delay in the start of the final round, allowing the course to recover and the maintenance crew to attend to areas affected by the downpour. But the interruption did little to disrupt Shin's rhythm, as the Korean-American remained firmly in control from start to finish. Shin's nine-shot romp fell way short of the 12-shot margin posted by Lloyd Go over Jeffren Lumbo at the Pinewoods crown last July. Still, it was a clinical display of dominance, even if the champion himself felt he was far from playing his best golf. “It's always fun playing here because there are so many talented players, like Russell. He's very talented. I think he just needs to get the job done once, and then he'll probably win a few more,” Shin said of his final-round rival. Despite enjoying the advantage of playing on familiar home-course territory and carrying a substantial lead into the final round, Shin admitted that he put unnecessary pressure on himself by trying too hard to deliver an entertaining performance for the home fans. “I had a big lead and, to be honest, playing at my home course was an advantage. But I got off to a bad start because I was trying to play too well. I just wanted to set a target score for the day and give the fans a show, make it a fun game. I think that was one of the reasons I put too much pressure on myself,” he said. In hindsight, the outcome was hardly surprising. Making the most of a rare Philippine Golf Tour appearance after receiving an invitation to compete at Apo, Shin wasted little time establishing his authority, combining intimate knowledge of the course with the class and firepower that have made him a regular contender on the Asian Tour. Even the presence of fellow Asian Tour campaigners Ramos and Justin Quiban could not derail his early charge. Both carried impressive credentials into the event, but neither could keep pace with Shin's blistering opening rounds, leaving them chasing him throughout the week. TMT

Zverev 'on top of the world' after securing No. 1 ranking

Zverev 'on top of the world' after securing No. 1 ranking

VIENNA, Austria — Alexander Zverev accelerated his ascent to number one in the world rankings for the first time in his career on Thursday as he beat Tallon Griekspoor 6-4, 7-5 to reach the quarter-finals of the Vienna Open. The 29-year-old German was already assured of finishing the season top of the ATP rankings but, in the absence of current incumbent Jannik Sinner, two-time Grand Slam champion Zverev will now take that crown in next week's updated standings after winning his opening two matches in the Austrian capital. "(It is) very special. To have the feeling to be on the top of the world is amazing," Zverev said. "It is different than winning a tournament or a title, but it's such a special feeling to know that the No. 1 is going to be next to your name when the new rankings come out." Long seen as tennis' nearly-man, Zverev has enjoyed a stellar 2026, breaking his major duck by picking up the titles at the French and US Opens. Now he has broken further ground by becoming only the 30th man to claim top spot since the rankings were first published in 1973. He will be aged 29 years and 196 days when Monday's new rankings are published, making him the second-oldest first-time number one after Australian John Newcombe. Due to a knee injury the Italian Sinner decided to end his season at the start of October, opening the way for Zverev to dethrone him. Sealed with a serve  The big-serving Hamburg native ensured he did just that ahead of the season-ending ATP Finals next month by seeing off Martin Landaluce and Griekspoor in his opening two matches in Vienna. Zverev needed to save four match points against Spain's Landaluce in his first-round match on Tuesday, but was much more comfortable as he defeated Griekspoor in straight sets to write his name into the history books. He raced out of the blocks on Thursday, breaking the 30-year-old Dutchman in the very first game and then confidently serving his way into a one-set lead. The second frame went to 5-5 before Zverev pounced on Griekspoor's serve to get his nose in front. The match met an unexpected stoppage as Zverev brought up match point when a smash off the German's racquet caused part of the electronic board behind Griekspoor to malfunction. But once the umpire covered up the problematic panel with a towel, Zverev then sealed his new ranking with an unreturnable serve. Elsewhere, former world number one Carlos Alcaraz advanced to the last eight with a 6-1, 7-6 (13/11) victory over Georgia's Nikoloz Basilashvili. The Spaniard will next meet American Tommy Paul for a spot in the semi-finals. Another former top-ranked player in Russia's Daniil Medvedev also enjoyed success as he battled past Britain's Cameron Norrie in three sets.
