Mr Hospital Bed's selections reflect his hands-on sales and equipment experience, with an emphasis on durability, positioning capabilities, mattress performance and overall value for the purchase price.

Hospital-Grade Features Bring Value to Home Care

Choosing home care hospital beds involves more than comparing prices. Families and facilities must consider patient comfort, daily positioning, caregiver access and the support surface needed for extended time in bed.

Mr Hospital Bed recommends selected refurbished Hill Rom hospital beds because their robust construction and extensive features can offer substantial value compared with many basic home care and long-term care beds. Depending on the model and configuration, features include powered height adjustment, head and knee positioning, chair positioning and integrated therapeutic air systems.

Reliability also depends on the individual bed's condition, refurbishment quality, maintenance history and available service support. These factors are central to the company's equipment selection process.

Hill Rom Advanta 2: Practical Features and Everyday Value

The Hill Rom Advanta 2 P1190 is a value-focused option for buyers seeking a full-electric hospital bed with convenient positioning controls.

Its powered adjustments and chair position support a variety of resting positions, while accessible caregiver controls help simplify daily care. Mr Hospital Bed highlights this model for buyers who want hospital-grade functionality without purchasing a more complex ICU bed.

Hill Rom P3200 VersaCare with Foam: Durable, Straightforward Support

The Hill Rom P3200 VersaCare with a compatible foam mattress offers an option for patients whose needs can be met with an appropriately selected foam support surface.

Mr Hospital Bed cites the VersaCare's durable design, powered positioning and caregiver-friendly features as reasons it remains a strong value among refurbished home care hospital beds. Mattress selection should reflect the patient's mobility, skin condition and clinical needs.

Hill Rom P3200 VersaCare with Air: Additional Pressure Care Support

For patients who need a more advanced support surface, the Hill Rom P3200 VersaCare with a P500 therapeutic air mattress adds pressure redistribution and microclimate management.

Hillrom describes the P500 therapy surface as supporting the prevention and treatment of pressure injuries in at-risk patients. For home care buyers, confirming the exact mattress system matters: basic air mattresses and therapeutic surfaces do not necessarily provide the same functions.

Mr Hospital Bed emphasizes matching the bed and air surface to the patient's care requirements rather than choosing an air mattress by name alone.

Hill Rom P7500 Progressa with Foam: Advanced Positioning Value

The Hill Rom P7500 Progressa with a compatible foam mattress provides another option for buyers who prioritize powered positioning and a lounge-style chair position.

Mr Hospital Bed highlights this configuration for patients seeking adjustable resting positions and hospital-grade construction without the additional therapies of a pulmonary air surface. Compatibility and available positioning functions should be confirmed for the specific bed and mattress combination.

A foam configuration does not provide the air-based rotation or pulmonary therapies available with an equipped Progressa pulmonary surface.

Hill Rom P7500 Progressa with Lateral Rotation and Pulmonary Mattress

For patients with more complex care requirements, Mr Hospital Bed highlights the Hill Rom P7500 Progressa with an equipped pulmonary air mattress.

Depending on configuration, the pulmonary surface provides continuous lateral rotation, percussion and vibration, alongside the therapeutic surface's pressure care functions. These capabilities distinguish it from a standard foam mattress or basic air system.

Lateral rotation allows controlled side-to-side movement of the patient on the surface. Used according to clinical instructions, powered rotation and turn-assistance features can support caregivers during positioning tasks and help limit some strenuous manual handling. They do not eliminate the need for safe patient-handling practices, appropriate assistance or individualized repositioning.

Supporting Bed Sore Prevention and Wound Care

For people who spend extended periods in bed, an appropriate support surface is an important part of preventing bed sores and pressure wounds and supporting treatment.

Selected Hill Rom hospital beds equipped with therapeutic air surfaces can provide pressure redistribution and, depending on the system, heat and moisture management. These functions complement a clinician-directed care plan that includes skin assessment, repositioning, nutrition and wound care.

Mr Hospital Bed helps buyers understand the differences between foam, basic air and therapeutic air systems so they can discuss suitable options with their care team.

Higher-seeded Shnaider up next for Eala at Ningbo Open

FILIPINO tennis ace Alexandra “Alex” Eala tries to get a winning streak going when she battles a higher-seeded Russian in the round of 16 at the WTA 500 Ningbo Open on Thursday. Clamor tapped as head coach of Altas Spikers

LAS PIÑAS CITY — Multi-titled volleyball coach Dexter Clamor took over as the new head coach of the University of Perpetual Help men’s volleyball team in preparation for NCAA Season 102 this year. He replaced Michael Cariño, who handled the Altas Spikers for the past two seasons. Clamor is bringing along former Perpetual Help players Sandy Montero and EJ Casaña as part of his coaching staff. Clamor, who hails from Mariveles town in Bataan, was a public school teacher by profession before he transitioned as coach for the Cignal HD Team that won six Spikers’ Turf championships. “Well, when they called me and offered the position, honestly, I was surprised. But at the back of my mind, I felt that maybe it’s time to give back to my alma mater,” Clamor said. “I want to share my knowledge and experience that I gained from playing and coaching volleyball to the Altas team. I want to help them grow, not just as volleyball players, but also as individuals.” Returning for the team this year are John Castil, Dexter Arrozado, Klint Mateo, Charles Pallasa, James Pascua, Justin Favila, Ike Jolaton Nash Abenoja, 2nd Best Middle Blocker awardee Jester Bornel and last season’s Rookie of the Year Marc Tangon. They are joined by rookie players Daryll Torio, Dave Borasca, John Penaroyo, JP Noblefranca, Steven Corpuz, Josh Cubar, Dino Espiritu and Marius Calijan. “One of my biggest goals is to bring back the championship culture here, the same legacy that Coach Sammy [Acaylar] had left us,” Clamor added. “For the past two seasons, we failed to reach the semis, so I know this is a big challenge for the coaching staff. But I see it as an opportunity to help rebuild the program, develop the players, and bring Perpetual Help back to where it belongs.” “For me, it’s more than just accepting a coaching position. It’s about giving back to the school that helped shape me, and doing my part to bring pride and success back to the Altas program,” he said. Clamor led Perpetual Help win back-to-back NCAA championships during his collegiate playing years in seasons 86 and 87. As the star setter and leader for the Altas Spikers, Clamor enjoyed a historic collegiate career where he was also awarded the league’s Most Valuable Player and Best Setter in season 87. Alongside teammates Marcelo Joaquin Jr., Jay Dela Cruz and Adam Daquer, the Altas Spikers swept the tournament at 14–0, securing the school’s seventh men’s volleyball title under the guidance of legendary coach Acaylar. Last year, Perpetual Help topped the elims in Group A with 10-3 win-loss record and earned the twice to beat advantage in quarterfinal round. The Carino-coached team, however, lost twice to Letran and failed to advance. Perpetual Help is the winningest team in NCAA volleyball with 14 championships under the guidance of Acaylar. The Altas Spikers last won the NCAA crown in 2024.
