The renowned menswear and formalwear store, which has been serving the greater Leicester community for years, is proud to be expanding their wedding suit hire options. Scotney’s of London Road is now offering grooms and groomsmen the opportunity to hire both tuxedos, three-piece suits and tops and tails for their special day.

The update to their wedding rental services follows the resurgence of the formal or black-tie wedding in 2023. As a recent article on Brides magazine explained, these weddings are glamorous affairs, but they generally come with a strict dress code. As such, for men, they stress that the tux, the three-piece suit, or tops and tails are the most classic look.

Scotney’s of London Road knows that when it comes to a fine suit like a tuxedo, the quality should be unparalleled. However, they also appreciate that many of today’s modern grooms have limited use for such fine formal wear, and in the case of grooms, they know that a wedding suit is generally only worn once.

As such, they are bringing Market Harborough grooms and groomsmen an extensive selection of wedding suits that have been designed and tailored by some of Europe’s biggest names in men’s formalwear and crafted using the finest fabrics.

Scotney’s of London Road is staffed by an expert team of tailors and style consultants to help all men feel at ease during the rental process. The store has the Midlands' largest collection of tuxedos, three-piece suits and tops and tails, and, as a part of their consultation service, they can also help grooms with choices regarding colours, prints, shirts, bow ties, ties, pocket squares, cufflinks, and more.

For those grooms and groomsmen who want to purchase their wedding suit outright, the store also retails an extensive collection of both traditional and ultra-contemporary looks.

Scotney’s of London Road is also proud to be launching their new luxury footwear department, with brands like Digel, John White London and Bugatti all available.

A spokesperson for the men’s formalwear experts said, “We are the Midlands’ leading independent name in men’s formal hire. Offering an excellent suit selection and excellent customer service, you can rest assured that we understand your wedding or important event is not a dress rehearsal. We will go the extra mile to ensure everything is perfect.”

POC chief says surpassing gold medal target still possible

Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino is confident the country would surpass its target of four gold medals in the 20th Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan. Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Tolentino said the country still has a strong chance in multiple disciplines, including jiu-jitsu and judo. “There are still three days until Sunday morning. Last 3 days, still hoping for more golds,” he said.   His bold prediction, however, took a hit Thursday afternoon when top seed Alex Eala lost in women's tennis semifinals and settled for the bronze.  At the previous Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, the Philippines finished with four gold medals from pole vaulter EJ Obiena, jiu-jitsu fighters Annie Ramirez and Meggie Ochoa, and the Gilas Pilipinas men’s basketball team. At press time, the Philippines has three gold medals, one from Obiena and two from Carlos Yulo. Tokyo Olympic silver medalist and pugilist Carlo Paalam and the jiu-jitsu fighters, including Ramirez and Kaila Napolis are still in the hunt for a gold medal. “God willing. Fellow Filipinos, let's pray for our athletes at Team Philippines. They’re still on the qualification stage. That’s why we can still surpass the four, hopefully,” Tolentino said. The POC chief earlier said that their target was to win four gold medals — later increased to eight — for this edition of the Asian Games. The closing ceremony is set to be held on Sunday with Japan handing over the Olympic Council of Asia flag to Doha, Qatar, which will host the quadrennial event for the second time in 2030.
